New production site

CITERNEO is moving to a new, ultra-modern 24,000 m² production site in Amboise, marking a new stage in its expansion accompanied by an evolution of its corporate identity.

April 2021

Origine France Garantie label

CITERNEO obtains the Origine France Garantie label, rewarding its commitment to national production from the outset. In the same year, CITERNEO develops EXOM+ 130e and EXOM+ 140e technical fabrics. They now contain up to 30% less PVC, help to also reduce CO₂ emissions generated by transport, and boast improved mechanical characteristics.

QB certification for fire reserves

The official recognition of the quality of its products is reinforced by obtaining the QB09 certification for its fire water tanks.

Successful international expansion

International expansion intensifies with significant growth in Spain and Latin America, followed by a successful entry into African and Middle Eastern markets.

April 2013

ISO 9001 certification and 1 500 m³ volume

CITERNEO achieves ISO 9001 certification, recognizing CITERNEO's commitment to quality. That year, the company also pushes the boundaries of storage with the first 1,500 m³ self-supporting flexible tank (destined for Germany), demonstrating its expertise and innovative spirit. Although 1.5 times superior to competing solutions, the group CITERNEO intends to further enhance its unrivalled storage capacities.

Green Tank launch and move to Amboise

The company expands. This is the launch of Citerne Verte, which offers rainwater harvesters in flexible tanks from 1 to 50 m³. This growth is followed by an innovation project for large storage volumes. CITERNEO moves to Amboise to meet this need.

Since our creation in 2007, our self-supporting flexible tanks have been designed and manufactured entirely in France. Faced with the pressure to relocate, we have resolutely chosen to produce entirely on French soil, in the heart of the Centre-Val de Loire region. This decision demonstrates our commitment to social responsibility and to local employment.

After several moves due to sustained growth, we have established our base in Amboise, a region renowned for its industrial dynamism. All our flexible tanks, from 1 to 2000 m³, are manufactured on site, without exception:

Canvas widths are carefully cut and welded.
Tappings are precision-machined.
Accessories are assembled and some pre-assembled on site to ensure a perfect seal when filling and emptying the tanks.
Even tank packaging is rigorously carried out on our premises.

Towards new storage limits

At CITERNEO, we're determined to revolutionize the world of flexible tanks by pushing back the limits of storage.

In September 2011, we launched a bold project to achieve a storage capacity of 2 500 m³ in a single self-supporting flexible tank. To realize this vision, we took several key steps.
In 2012, we designed a 1 200 m³ self-supporting tank, becoming the first manufacturer to exceed 1 000 m³.
In 2013, thanks to EXOM technology, we reached 1 500 m³, then 1 700 m³ with EXOM+ technology, marking a major step forward.
In January 2016, we unveiled the first tanks capable of storing up to 2 000 m³, consolidating our leadership position.
In 2022, CITERNEO moved to a 10 000 m² production site in Amboise, optimizing the manufacture of large-volume tanks.
In 2024, we manufactured a 2 500 m³ flexible tank for a customer in Croatia, covering 1 700 m² - the equivalent of almost three tennis courts. Our quest for innovation knows no bounds.

Ever-improving fabrics

CITERNEO is constantly improving the performance of the technical fabrics used in the manufacture of its flexible tanks, thanks to close collaboration with its suppliers. The introduction of EXOM technology in 2013, followed by EXOM+ in 2015, has enabled us to reach capacities of 1 500 m³ and 1 700 m³ respectively, while increasing the lifespan of our flexible tanks.

In 2021, in keeping with our commitment to social and environmental responsibility (SER), we launched EXOM+ 130e and EXOM+ 140e technical composite fabrics. These revolutionary materials, manufactured in France, reduce PVC use and transport-related CO₂ emissions by 30%, while offering improved mechanical characteristics for superior quality of our flexible tanks.

Accessories that make a difference

At CITERNEO, we are committed to continuously improving our products and offering exclusive accessories for our tanks. We strive to exceed our customers' expectations.

Since 2007, we have been continuously striving to improve our products. For example, we introduced the 2-Pad and 4-Pad plates to reinforce the corners of our tanks, as well as the S+ range of thermal protections to ensure optimal performance in extreme conditions.
In 2013, the Level Switch system was launched to optimize the filling and emptying of liquids.
The following year, in 2014, the Securflow 80 overflow and Securtex 3 anti-vortex were developed for efficient and smooth liquid drainage. We also created the Dualflow system to ensure optimal mixing of effluents, guaranteeing consistent quality of stored liquids.
In 2017, our innovative rotating coupling for fire reserves facilitated emergency response thanks to a quick and intuitive connection.
Three years later, in 2020, we introduced Désherbâche, a revolutionary fabric for the maintenance of flexible tanks, preventing vegetation growth while preserving the environment.
This year, in 2024, responding to the emerging needs of our customers, we launched the Drap'Eau level indicator, allowing quick visualization of the filling of flexible tanks.
