Effluent tanks

A versatile solution for all types of effluent

CITERNEO flexible tanks are designed for the storage of effluent in all its forms: agricultural effluent, wine-making effluent, wastewater, liquid sludge or digestate. Made in France from EXOM+ technical fabric, they guarantee watertightness, resistance to aggressive effluents and durability, with volumes of up to 2,000 m³. Easy to install on a flat surface, they ensure a constant useful volume, and their anti-UV and anti-fungal treatment prevents the development of algae and fungi. Fully customizable, they can be integrated into sewage or recovery circuits, with custom membranes available for retention basins.

The right solution for agriculture and winegrowing

For the agricultural and viticultural worlds, waste management is strategic. Our agricultural effluent tank, often used as a slurry pocket, efficiently stores slurry, liquid manure, digestate from methanization or wine effluent (washing water, lees). Unlike open pits, the closed structure of the poche eau souple prevents rainwater from diluting the storage. You store (and spread) only useful product, with no involuntary increase in volume due to bad weather, thus optimizing your storage capacities and spreading plans.

Wastewater management for industry and local authorities

Local authorities and industrial sites find CITERNEO a reliable answer for water management. Our tanks serve as multipurpose wastewater tanks for wastewater treatment plants or buffer basins. The technical fabric can store a wide typology of liquids: white water, brown water, green water, gray water or black water. By integrating a flexible effluent tank into your process, you secure the storage of liquid sludge or process water awaiting treatment, with a solution that prevents the development of algae thanks to its total opacity.

EXOM+ technology for aggressive storage

The special feature of a flexible effluent storage tank lies in the technical nature of its fabric. Unlike clear water storage, effluent contains chemical, acidic or basic agents that can attack standard materials. That's why Citerneo uses EXOM+ technology, a specific high-performance PVC coating applied to a dense polyester weave. This state-of-the-art tank fabrication enables the tank to withstand fermentation, chemical abrasion and extreme temperature variations (-30°C to +70°C), guaranteeing a longevity superior to that of conventional membranes, even for the most corrosive liquids such as leachates.

French quality for controlled storage

Faster and more economical than concrete construction, the installation of a flexible effluent storage tank CITERNEO can be achieved without heavy civil engineering, even for monumental volumes of up to 2000 m³. This low cost per cubic metre makes our poche souple the ideal alternative to rigid pits. Choosing CITERNEO also means choosing a product Origine France Garantie, a guarantee of traceability and environmental compliance. Our experts design your agricultural effluent tank or industrial tank to measure (valves, mixing), ensuring a flexible, durable and perfectly dimensioned solution for a controlled investment.

Effluent storage regulations and obligations

Effluent storage is strictly regulated in France and Europe to protect water resources and limit nuisances. Installing a CITERNEO flexible tank enables you to meet performance requirements in terms of leak tightness and odor containment.

  • Storage capacities (Nitrates Directive): In vulnerable zones, the 7th National Action Program (PAN) imposes minimum storage capacities (often 4 to 7.5 months) to cover periods when spreading is prohibited.

  • Administrative regimes (RSD and ICPE): Depending on the size of your operation or the volume stored, your project may fall under the Règlement Sanitaire Départemental (RSD) or the Installations Classées (ICPE) regime. For industrial sites, the European directive IED 2010/75/UE and the Best Available Techniques (BAT) are authoritative.

  • Safety distances: Effluent storage facilities must respect minimum distances: generally 50 meters from dwellings (100 m if there is a risk of olfactory nuisance), 35 meters from watercourses and wells, and 5 meters from public roads.

  • Safety retention: For certain polluting liquids or liquid fertilizers exceeding 100 m³, a retention capacity (100% of the largest tank or 50% of the total volume) may be mandatory.

Important note: This information represents regulatory guidelines and is not exhaustive. It is up to the operator to contact the DDT/DDPP, the DRAAF (agricultural) or the DREAL (industrial) to check specific local provisions (prefectoral decrees, etc.) applicable to his facility.
