L'Élysée opened its doors on October 26 and 27, 2024 for the fourth edition of the Grande Exposition du Fabriqué en France. Among the 122 companies selected from more than 2,200 applications, Citerneo, a family business based in Amboise specializing in the manufacture of flexible tanks, proudly represented Indre-et-Loire and the Centre-Val de Loire region. An honor that underscores the importance of local know-how and commitment to responsible manufacturing.

A path of excellence in the service of sustainable innovation

Since its creation in 2007 by Didier Supply, Citerneo has never ceased to innovate in the field of liquid storage. The "Citerne Verte", the company's original product, embodies this desire to provide ecological and practical solutions for rainwater harvesting. Manufactured entirely at the Boitardière site in Amboise, this tank stands out for its flexible design and ease of transport.

With over 95% of its components produced in France, the Citerne Verte proudly bears the "Origine France Garantie" label. This distinction is not just a label, but the reflection of a sincere commitment to quality and the promotion of national know-how. A recent study reveals that 67% of French people prefer locally manufactured products, testifying to the importance of this approach for consumers (Étude sur les habitudes de consommation locale en France, 2023, CREDOC).

For an SME with fifty employees, this national recognition is a real accolade. Nicolas Clairet, executive assistant, expresses his satisfaction: "Taking part in such a large-scale event puts the spotlight on our work and our commitment. It's a unique opportunity to present our products to a wider audience and strengthen our position in the market."

The "green tank": a response to current environmental challenges

Faced with climate challenges and the need to preserve water resources, the flexible tank provides a concrete solution. Designed for use by industry, local authorities and the general public, they facilitate the recovery and storage of rainwater, contributing to more responsible management of this precious resource. According to the Loire-Bretagne Water Agency, France could experience a 30% reduction in its water resources by 2050, making such initiatives essential.

Citerneo has expanded its range to meet the needs of professionals. From fire reserves to effluent tanks, liquid fertilizers or hydrocarbons, the company offers solutions tailored to a wide range of sectors. Its ability to innovate and adapt to market requirements makes it a key player in the sector and the market leader in flexible tanks.

A lasting legacy at the heart of the republic

One of the highlights of this participation is undoubtedly the donation of a 4 m³ green tank to the Élysée Palace. After the exhibition, this tank will remain at the disposal of the palace gardeners for the upkeep of the gardens of the Republic. A symbolic gesture that illustrates Citerneo's commitment to the environment and the community.

This action is a reminder that every drop of water counts, and that simple solutions can have a significant impact. By leaving this tanker at the Élysée Palace, Citerneo is part of a sustainable approach, while raising public awareness of water conservation issues.

The importance of supporting local businesses

Citerneo's success highlights the potential of local businesses and the importance of supporting them. According to INSEE, SMEs account for 99.8% of French businesses and are a key driver of the national economy (Source INSEE  "Entreprises en France - Édition 2023). Their ability to innovate, create jobs and contribute to the dynamism of territories is crucial.

By promoting Made in France, events like this exhibition encourage local consumption and strengthen the regional economic fabric. For consumers, it's an opportunity to discover quality products that respect the environment and embody ethical values.

The future outlook for Citerneo

Bolstered by this recognition, Citerneo looks to the future with ambition. The company plans to pursue its innovation efforts, developing new products tailored to changing market needs. With the ecological transition at the heart of current concerns, the solutions proposed by Citerneo are finding a favorable echo with local authorities and businesses.

In addition, participation in the exhibition opens up prospects in terms of partnerships and collaborations. Strengthening links with other players committed to Made in France can lead to mutually beneficial synergies.

A positive impact on the Centre-Val de Loire Region

The selection of Citerneo to represent Touraine and the Centre-Val de Loire region highlights the country's economic dynamism.

By contributing to the region's notoriety, Citerneo draws attention to the opportunities offered by the Centre-Val de Loire. This can encourage other companies to set up in the region, strengthening its attractiveness and development. As the President of the Republic pointed out at the opening, supporting the regional entrepreneurial fabric is essential for the development of French know-how.

Celebrating French know-how

Citerneo's participation in the Grande Exposition du Fabriqué en France is more than just a distinction. It's the recognition of hard work, an innovative vision and a commitment to authentic values.

By showcasing products that combine practicality, innovation and respect for the environment, the Amboise-based company perfectly illustrates the dynamism of this region. It also highlights the role of local companies in promoting France's industrial heritage.
